Hey Mr. Carter

"Reunited & It Feels So Good.." It’s no secret.  The Los Angeles Kings are floundering.  The Kings have won only two of their last ten.  The entire roster has struggled to score goals, averaging only 2.05 goals per game, dead last in the NHL. The Kings averaged 2.55 goals last season (25 th in the league).  Dean Lombardi did his best to bolster their anemic offense in the offseason.  Unfortunately, the results this season have been mixed at best. Fans were ecstatic when Dean Lombardi acquired Mike Richards prior to the Draft.  He was fantastic during the first two months of the season posting 20 points in 24 games.  Unfortunately, Richards has only 11 points in 29 games since suffering a concussion in early December.  PASS. Perfect, DL got a #1A center to compliment Kopitar.  Only box that needed to be checked was a top-line left wing… Dustin Penner.  His late-season struggles followed him into this season.  He’s got fi...

Ethan Moreau?...Sure Why Not

Ethan Moreau's So Excited To Be A King He Got A Haircut  Ethan Moreau and the Kings will always be linked via Wayne Gretzky's trade to Los Angeles.  Moreau was the final link to "The Trade." You can break out your media guides or check out this link to follow all the transactions thru the years . Ethan Moreau was one of the most heralded third-line checkers in the NHL after Edmonton's improbable run to the 2006 Cup Final (along with current Kings Jarret Stoll and Matt Greene).  But at 35 years old,  Moreau is a shadow of his former-self and a walking band-aid.  He missed 43 games last season with a laundry list of injuries: broken hand, rib injury, and bruised foot.  Moreau was plucked off of waivers by the Columbus Blue Jackets after the Oilers attempted to dump his $1.75 million salary on some unsuspecting victim.  The Jackets bit. Jackets fans didn't have much to be excited about going into the 2010-11 season but they were confident that t...

Trade Deadline Targets: Columbus Blue Jackets

Nikita Filatov Would Look Good In L.A. ROSTER ANALYSIS The Blue Jackets are loaded with young talent at all positions.  Calder Winner and Vezina nominated Steve Mason has suffered a terrible sophomore jinx.  Mason's struggles in goal cost head coach Ken Hitchcock his job in Columbus.  Many felt Hitchcock's defensive system kept alot of their young high-skilled forwards from succeeding.  The Jackets are a good team that hasn't been able able to catch a break this season.  They've got a good young core and shouldn't be looking to sell off too many pieces. POSSIBLE TARGETS 1. Fredrik Modin (UFA 812,500)- Modin would be a pretty nice pick-up but he's struggled with injuries over the last two and half seasons.  He's appeared in only 23 games this season and misssed 91 games over the previous two seasons.  He was a key contributor on the Lightning's 2004 Stanley Cup team posting 19 points in 23 playoff games.  Although he's gone pointless in nine pla...

Four In A Row

Kopi Scored Career Goals #100 & #101 Kings win 4-1.  Jonathan Quick carried the Kings early and then the offense took over.  Kings dominated the play while the Blue Jackets fans booed the home team off the ice.  Rich Hammond's Game Recap. Quick would have had himself his second shutout of the season but Sean O'Donnell had a classic OD moment in the 3rd. He turned the puck over in his own end and then got back to the net just in time to watch the shot bounce off him and past Quick. Kings lost Jack Johnson in the 3rd period to an 'upper-body injury.'  It doesn't sound too serious according to Terry Murray.    Per Rich Hammond . “Jack got hit on the hit that Simmer had on Boll. It’s a little bit of an upper-body injury. I haven’t got any medical report on it, quite honestly. I don’t think it’s something we are overly concerned about. We’re hoping that he’s able to recover from it and help us be a part of the next two games on the road.” With Davis Drew...
